Our Registered Massage Therapy program is a 6-term, 22-month diploma program. Upon completion, students are eligible to write the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC entrance-to-practice board examinations.
OV College is designated by the BC Ministry of Advanced Education and fully accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation. Students are eligible to apply for both national and provincial student loans.
Our unique 6-term structure includes spring, summer, and winter breaks — with a longer break between years 1 and 2 to rest, recover, or earn income. Graduates may also pursue a Bachelor of Health Science degree through Thompson Rivers University's online studies.

Foundational Swedish techniques, neuromuscular & fascial methods, trigger point, scar tissue, lymphatic drainage, infant massage, and general orthopedic soft tissue conditions.

Hydrotherapy
Therapeutic applications of water — hot and cold contrast baths, sauna, and infrared light therapy within massage therapy practice.
CA 200
Clinical Assessment
Adapted Cyriax Model — patient history, postural assessment, palpation, range of motion, muscle length & strength testing, neurological and special tests.
MYO 200
Myofascial Techniques
Advanced palpation with direct and indirect myofascial techniques, building on musculoskeletal knowledge from Term 1.
SPORT 300
Sports Massage
Manual techniques in athletic situations including pre-event, injury prevention, and rehabilitation — with on-site experience at real sporting events.

Your Path to Graduation
Graduation Requirements
The OVCMT Registered Massage Therapy Program graduation occurs upon successful completion of all of the following requirements:
01Successful completion of all terms, courses, and components of the Registered Massage Therapy Program, including all required clinical practicum hours.
02Compliance with all rules and regulations of the college, including the maintenance of professional standards of conduct throughout the program.
03Payment-in-full of all tuition and fees in accordance with the established payment schedule.
04Return of all borrowed library or OVCMT items prior to the graduation ceremony.
Formal Graduation Ceremony
OVCMT Student Diplomas are awarded at a formal graduation ceremony held at the end of each program cohort.
